Hi Marco, I've not used this particular solution myself but it seems that there may be a bug with IE 8 in rendering very small transparent pngs where as IE7 doesn't have this issue. Are you using a 1 x 1 semi transparent pixel? If so, try making the png a bit bigger and see if that works. Found this article on it:Â
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/667286/ie8s-rendering-of-transparent-pngs-is-fubared-on-my-site

Hope this helps.

?? I cannot find explanations on why this meta should fix 24-bit transparency. Any clues?

Sorry for the delay in replying, I've actually not use these functions recently so I can't tell you for certain but as of 8.0.1 I believe there was the same version of Ext JS library in use so the problem should still exist. I mostly use jQuery these days.

Hi Bilal,

Thanks for getting on this. To answer your questions:
1. I used the installer from the getRailo site
2. During the install, I didn't choose the option to start Railo when the machine starts, and tried to start it manually using both the railostart.sh and start.sh from the tomcat folders but both were giving the permission denied errors.

I wasn't aware of the other command. I'll add this to the post. Thanks!

It's odd that the installer didn't add permissions for the currently logged in use, thinking back it may be because I didn't set it to start with the system since the system and admin groups both had the correct permissions set.

Donnie,
Good to see that you got it running.
Did you use the installer from the getRailo site or did you install manually?
If you used the installer can you let me know whether you tried to use the
railostart.sh and railostop.sh to start and stop manually?
This should not have required changing of permissions.
Alternatly running:
sudo launchctl load -w org.apache.tomcat.plist
can do the trick.

Your feedback is appreciated.
-Bilal

Yes It works for me. Thanks
The & sign tells PHP to return the value as a reference. In PHP 5.3.0 you don’t need to specify the &.
